Coal Miner's Daughter
This project focused on making a "portrait" of a famous figure, without literally depicting them. This scene is intended to represent the country musician Loretta Lynn, specifically focusing on her impoverished childhood in Appalachia.
The Adventurer's Alphabet
An alphabet inspired by Girl and Boy Scout badges. Each letter is formed from camping/wilderness gear.
Dog Park
A prototype of a dog park magnet board for young children (or the young at heart).
Gatermouth Moonshine
This project served as a capstone to the development of my fictional city of Sumptown. This packaging represents Sumptown's efforts to rebrand as a tourist trap, despite the town's rich and authentic history.
Johnny Appleseed
This project focused on redesigning or recontextualizing a figure from folklore or myth. While John Chapman was a real person, his mythical of Johnny Appleseed was ripe for reinterpretation. I designed commercial packaging for Chapman's Cider, and imprisoned Johnny Appleseed in one of the bottles.
Rat Shack
This assignment was based around building a candy box with a twist. My candy box features a mouse trap on top, with a rat and its stolen treasures within. the rat's hoard are common household objects decorated to look like candy.
